Tap Classes

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Dance Attack students will learn a variety of tap styles. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

The tap class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

FAST TRACK TAP is a class designed for older students who have never tapped before and would like to learn. This gives them the opportunity to learn the steps at a fast pace through the grades to get to the right level without missing out the basics needed.

At Dance Attack we study the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D Examination) for Ballet, Tap & Modern. This Syllabus has been used to train professional dancers throughout the world in both full & part time dance training facilities for many years.

It is also excellent for giving recreational dancers the knowledge needed to work through the grades enabling them to progress to the best of their ability in a structured program, whilst enjoying their classes.

Although these examinations are not compulsory, we feel they are beneficial, gradually building their strength, ability and confidence. Only when the student displays the discipline and ability required to meet the grade will we encourage an examination to be taken in the appropriate genre. The exams can be a nervous time for some, but we ensure they are well prepared and mindful of the process and expectation of the examiners.

Our students experience a wonderful and rewarding feeling of achievement when successfully completing an exam as recognition to progress to the next level.
